Last 2 weeks was rather hectic week to me, I travel non-stop to east coast, sound great and I thought it would be a great week too. It turned out quite fun and enjoyable, but after the trips I spent more hours on bed every day to recuperate. Somehow I think that a bad hotel during the trip would cause ineffective sleep, which resulting extra tiredness. That’s why I always take accommodation as the first most important thing when I’m planning a trip.
After years of traveling around, picking hotel/hostel, I admit picking Holiday Villa Hotel & Suites Kota Bharu was a big miss, with a good budget on hand and various hotel to pick. I was being told it was quite a new hotel in Kota Bharu and it was quite”OK”. So I didn’t read the comment and the rating of the Hotel carefully (big mistake no. 1). The problem I faced in the hotel was just exactly the same as the previous traveler commented.
I checked in the hotel and found the problems as following:\
- They overlook my request on getting the room next to each other.
- A few strands of hair on the bed.
- Dirt stains on the bed sheet.
- Un-flushed toilet.
I have never stayed in a hotel/hostel (which cost much lesser or no-star-budget-hostel) that had such problems, I felt irritated. But god, it was 8pm and I was going to stay just one night so I closed my eyes flushed the toilet and slept with my long pants on. When I closed my eyes, I was in fear (cause my mom told me, you can’t complain the place that you were staying, something bad might happened if you have negative though), I complained so much and it was Chinese “Ghost month” (where all the ghost was release from the hell for a month), so you see how complex I felt that night.
Traveling was good and sleeping alone on a double bed was wonderful, but not in a bad hotel during “Ghost month”.
After all, their staff was really friendly and the hotel was quite new, the facilities were just nice for a traveler. They could do much better if they fixed all the mentioned problem and I would really happy to stay over again.
